I would like to welcome all new and existing whānau for 2023.
We are working hard to prepare our classes/teachers/classrooms for our upcoming year. The
information you find below is relevant for the start of next year. Please keep this
information handy so you can refer back to it if you need to.
Rooms and Teachers for 2023
You will be emailed, by 15 December 2022, the room number and your child’s
teacher’s name, together with an introduction from your child’s class teacher.
School office will be open on Friday, 27 January 2023
You can drop into the office from 9:00am – 2:00pm for any queries.
Tuesday 31 January – Learning Partnership Meetings – Book your time online
2023 will start with a Learning Partnership Meeting, which provides you and your
child with an opportunity to meet 1:1 with your child’s teacher for a 10-minute
meeting.
The purpose of this meeting is for you to talk about your child so that their
teacher has a clear picture of who they are and can design learning based on this
information. e.g. their interests, strengths, needs, passions, how they best learn, their
life beyond school, any family matters that we need to be aware of, etc.
It is also a great opportunity for you to develop that important partnership with your child’s
teacher by being on the same page, right from day one, of the new school year. If
you are uncertain of your child’s class location, please call into the office.
We encourage families of our 2023 Year 8’s to also make bookings. The roll will be
marked for the day, based on attendance at meetings.
Students are asked to wear their school uniform for their meeting.
You can book a time to meet with your child’s class teacher from Friday 16
December, once you have received notification of your child’s teacher and room
number. The booking information will be included in the class/teacher
communication.
There will also be an opportunity to book with SENCo, Specialist Teachers and the
Sports Coordinator.
If you require multiple bookings (more than one child or bookings for more than one
staff member) we suggest you leave a gap between each booking.
On the same day, families can complete any paperwork needed for our office team
or update any changes to personal details such as phone number/address,
vaccination status etc. The office will be open from 8:00am – 3:30pm.
Wednesday 1 February – First FULL day for all students
Full classes start today. Students will go straight to their classroom on arrival. There
will be a whole school powhiri in the hall after the 8:45am bell. Parents may attend
this powhiri if they wish.
