Mount Maunganui Intermediate have named their houses based on the surrounding islands.
Teams are made up of 3-4 classes and compete in a range of activities throughout the year to earn points for their house.
Students and teachers at MMI feel a sense of belonging and pride for the house that they are in and the competition between houses is fierce.
