More frequently we are dealing with the consequences (anxiety, bullying, inappropriate sharing of images and videos, unwanted contact) related to student consumption and involvement in social media. Without active parental oversight and guidance (and sometimes even with) these platforms, especially when unmoderated, are highly detrimental to a student’s well-being and subsequently their learning. It is strongly recommended that no student should be on their phone past 9pm nor should they have access to social media which is generally restricted to 13+. The school’s policy is that students should not make or join MMI related groups if a parent allows them to be on social media. Please refer to our school website for further guidance and information.
