Kia Ora,
I’m Mikala Crawford and I am excited to be your teacher next year. I have only just moved to Mount Maunganui at the start of 2021 so I am still learning about all the amazing places here and can’t wait to hear about your favourite spots and ‘must do’s’ in the Bay of Plenty. I moved from Palmerston North with my fiancé James, our cat Theo and dog Cooper. I have been teaching for five years, three years teaching Year 7 & 8 and two years teaching Year 5 & 6. In my spare time I like to head to the beach, go camping, play netball, or do some baking.
In Whānau 23 we have an awesome group of Year 8’s waiting to meet you and will ensure you have a great time at MMI. My main focus in the classroom is to look after our well-being and make sure we are all in a space that will help us to learn. I love making our class learning include topics you are passionate about, so I can’t wait to get to know you and learn about the things you are interested in!
