Today, Friday 2nd June, The band Four40 performed at this weeks assembly. Four40 is made up of staff members at MMI who are always ready to perform in front of the school. The teachers, Mr Higgins, Matua Shan, Matua Tia, Whaea Tara and Miss Faye all come together at morning teas and lunchtimes to rehearse for their yearly performance at our school. MMMI students Lillian Akagi and Mia Labone have won second place in Toi,  New Zealand’s largest annual wearable arts competition for schools. Lillian and Mia say the inspiration for their piece named Crazy Art ‘was to go on the crazy side of things “We wanted to incorporate the visual arts by using everyday art supplies, like if you were a seamstress you use buttons, if you were a painter you use paintbrushes everyday.
